As we finish out 2014 with only a few days left, I hope you take a moment to look back at the year: remember the positives, acknowledge the trials and tribulations and make a plan to make 2015 an even better year!

Personally, after the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season, I have to quickly recollect myself and focus on a January birthday for my little one. She turns 5 in just a few weeks! So I will be planning away the last details for her celebration. I really enjoy the party planning for my girls' birthdays.

With regards to running, I am excited I have rejoined the Sonoran Distance Project and will focus on reaching my goals for the 2015 year. I also will be volunteering as a youth running coach in Tempe. Two of my former college teammates run the Elite Striders Track Club and have asked me to assist with the distance events. I am pretty excited to share my running experience and knowledge to guide the young runners to reach their goals in getting faster!

What do you have planned for this upcoming year or what goals would you like to achieve? Pen the answers down on a piece of paper and place it somewhere you can see everyday. Hopefully this paper will remind you to stay on task for the entire year and not just for the beginning of the New Year hype.

On behalf of all of us at Sonoran Distance Project, Happy New Year and Cheers to a great 2015!
